Pagani Huayra: Made to replace the Zonda, the Pagani Huayra holds an epic 6.6 Turbocharged V12. The result is 720 horses being produced. Combine the V12 and the light body, and 0-60 takes only 3 seconds, and a top speed of 230 mph. Unfortunately this car will probably empty out your bank account ( unless you're Bill Gates). This car costs $1,300,000.
Zenvo ST1: This Danish car company was able to create a twin-charged 7.7 liter V8, and this is the first car on the list to have more than 1000 horsepower. The final product: a fast, futuristic looking monster with 1104 horsepower and a top speed of 233 mph. Fortunately, it's not made out of Lego's, for that would be a great inconvenience for owners of this beast. And who said that there's nothing in Denmark?
McLaren F1: The V12 with 627 horses made this icon the fastest car of the 20th century. To save weight, this supercar has only one seat in the center, and doors that might make a car fly. Its top speed is 240 mph. This tremendously fast car will leave people amazed when you pass by. Ask Jay Leno- He was once caught doing 220+ with two other undercover police officers in LA!
Saleen S7 Twin Turbo: Finally, an American car makes it to this list! This V8 makes 750 hp, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of 248 mph. This hand built car has us all over it.
Koenigsegg CCR: This Swedish supercar has a V8 pumping out 806 horsepower, and 0-60 only takes 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 250 mph. Much better than any other 'Ikea' product. Luckily you don't have to assemble this yourself.
Porsche 9ff GT9-R: The good old 4 liter twin-turbo flat 6 creates 1120 horsepower. 0-60 takes 2.9 seconds. Based on a normal 911 Carrera, this modified monster can go up to 257 mph. The inside has been stripped for maximum speed.
SSC Ultimate Aero: A Twin-Turbo V8 is all that's needed to power this American monster. 0-60 takes 2.7 seconds, and the top speed is 257 mph. Sadly this car is no longer being made.
Koenigsegg Agera R: A V8 with 1099 horses takes this car from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds. The top speed is 260 mph. Faster than its sister, this car is worth about $4.2 million dollars. Now, if only 'Ikea' used this car for furniture delivery....
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: What used to be the world's fastest car is powered by a W16 engine producing 1200 horses. It has a top speed of about 269 mph. This car costs over 1.6 million euros. Unlike most other 'hypercars' today, Bugatti never bothered to strip the car. It has a radio in it, but with a great engine soundtrack, why listen to the radio?
Hennessy Venom GT: On February 14, 2014 a turbocharged V8 producing 1244 horsepower powered the world's fastest car. With a top speed of 270 mph, this beats the Veyron Super Sports by 1 mph. Well done America, well done indeed. Sadly it doesn't qualify for Guinness* but it qualifies for us and most of the world.
*Guinness says in order for a record, 2 trials had to be made, averaging out the top speeds of both. Hennessy only did on test, so it is unofficially the world's fastest street car.
