The Ford GT was actually just a remake of the 1964 Le Mans winner, the GT40. Starting production in 2005, the Ford GT had a 5.4 L Supercharged V8 producing 550 bhp. It stopped production only one year later, only able to make 4,038 units. However, if you mourn the passing of this car, you can stop crying; rumor has it that Ford is unleashing a new GT in 2016, celebrating their 50th anniversary of their Le Mans victory. It is said to be able to compete with McLaren, Porsche, and Ferrari, but there's only one way to find out, and our answer is still in the future.
